This 2 day workshop offers an intensive, hands on screenprinting experience, using the method known as the photo emulsion technique. You will be guided through designing and creating a stencil on clear film, emulsion coating a screen, exposing your screen using a UV exposure unit and printing with water based inks. I will also demo registration techniques and allow time to experiment with colour layering and cut out stencil techniques.
Day 1 - demos of process and guidance through the creation of unique stencils for exposing onto the screens. Coating and drying screens, using the exposure unit, washing screens ready for print.
Day 2 - Inking, registration, printing (fabric and paper)
In order to get the most from the workshop, bring along a image to use as a starting point for your design. If you have no experience in creating a stencil for screen (a black image on a transparent sheet) I will guide you through this process.
